TALANTBEK CHEKIROV
Talantbek Chekirov was born in 1971 in the former Soviet state of Kyrgyzstan. From a young
age he was fascinated with the concept of artistic expressive creativity, and always wished
to spend his life as an artist.
He attended the State College of Art from 1986 to 1990. Throughout his study he acquired
great knowledge and skill of many varied disciplines, and in 1990 he completed his study
with majors in theatrical painting and constructive art.
Subsequently, his path led him to the world famous Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, where
he took over as the head of artistic scenery and stage design until 1992.
In the 90’s he travelled throughout Europe in search of broader artistic horizons. In a period
of much discovery he was introduced to many important works that had been politically
obscured from him during his college years, under the rule of the former Soviet Union.
From his newly found wealth of inspiration he was able to inject a fresh new perspective
into his painting.
He settled in Germany, where he presently shares an art studio with his brother. Whilst
his originals are scarce, his work has been widely published and highly successful throughout
Europe for a number of years.
His works show the varied aspects of many beautiful and decorative forms of art - they
are extracts of his rich and broad ideas concerning the ideal notion of beauty, and it is no
surprise that such diverse genres as landscapes and stylised antique nudes find their way
into his work.
