CHRIS CALVEY
Born in Glasgow in 1958, Chris Calvey was not too far from the wild and raw beauty he would later capture on film, Loch Lomond: one of Scotland’s most treasured landscapes.
Educated in Oxfordshire, England, Calvey graduated with an honours degree in Graphic Design and later spent five years working for BBC Television. However, hi slong interest in the countryside and wildlife lured him back to Scotland and in 1986 he began work as a countryside ranger and photographer.
Once the chief ranger of Scotland's first national park The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, he has witnessed the Loch’s ever changing moods through the seasons.
His images embody all that is unique and majestic about Scotland’s great landscape, created by a man with an intimate knowledge.
He says of his work “I hope people enjoy these moments in time, none were easy to capture but save any admiration you may have, the real thing is even better.”
